Shooting Kodak Vision3 5219 (500T) and 5207 (250D) in a Nikon FE and Pentax 17 offers a cinematic look, but not without trade-offs. The 500T, tungsten-balanced for low light, tends to render scenes with a noticeable blue cast when shot in daylight without correction. The 250D, daylight-balanced, often skews yellow in its default tones. While both stocks feature advanced Dye Layering Technology that enhances dynamic range and detail in shadows and highlights, the color straight out of the scanner isn’t always pleasing. Considerable amount of effort in post-processing or color grading is often needed to achieve a natural or consistent look. They remain interesting choices for photographers chasing a unique aesthetic, but they are far from plug-and-play.
Perhaps the B&W shots turned out better – see for yourself at the end.
